Power Electronics Design Engineer
Invertek Drives is a fast-growing global organisation dedicated to the design and manufacture of sophisticated Variable Frequency Drives, used to control motors in a wide variety of industrial and energy saving applications.
Based at our Welshpool Head Office, Invertek Drives are seeking to appoint a Power Electronics Design Engineer, working as part of the Power Stage Design Technology team. The ideal candidate will have the following:
Essential Requirements:
· A degree or equivalent in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering.
· Design, simulation, analysis, and test of electronic and/or power electronics circuits.
· Experience of schematic design and PCB layout.
· Good working knowledge of AC motor control.
· Excellent communication and teamworking skills
· Organisation skills with high attention to detail.
Advantage to have:
· Experience using Altium Designer for PCB design.
· Modelling and simulation of power electronics using MATLAB and PSIM.
· Knowledge of power factor correcting (PFC) circuits.
· Firmware development for DSP based motor control.
· Experience with EMC compliance testing and design especially conducted and radiated emissions.
· Master’s degree or PhD.
