High-Performance Products on Show from Milan to Mumbai
The second half of 2026 will see Sumitomo Drive Technologies products on show at a series of industry leading exhibitions, demonstrating the full scope of our capability across a wide range of sectors.

Automation Expo
The first exhibition will be the Automation Expo in Mumbai (22nd-25th July). Invertek Drives will be one of more than 2000 exhibitors showing their latest innovations for industrial automation, robotics, and smart technologies. The Invertek stand (E3, hall 6) will feature Optidrive E3 – Invertek’s popular general purpose drive, as well VFDs for specialist applications. These include Optidrive Eco for HVAC and pump applications, the Coolvert compressor and heat pump drive, the Elevator Core which offers advanced control for elevators, and the Compact 2 – a compact OEM drive for all motor types.
“Invertek offers a range of general purpose and high-performance drives which will be on show at Automation Expo. It also offers product ranges designed to meet very specific application needs,” says Nigel.
“This means customers can be confident that their motor control will perform exactly as intended – whether that’s ensuring the smoothest motion possible for elevator applications, or the continuous operation required by compressors used in refrigeration systems.”
Wind Energy
Lafert motors will be on show on stand 571 in hall B6 at the Wind Energy show in Hamburg, taking place from 22nd-25th September.
The Lafert motor range includes a variety of reliable and robust AC and PM motors designed specifically for wind power generation applications, including Yaw and Pitch drives.
Lafert offers efficiency levels from IE2 to IE5, single speed and two speed AC motors or dedicated multispeed PM motors controlled by a frequency converter, mechanical and electrical adaptations to suit specific applications, and mechanical components and paint systems that deliver high corrosion protection for offshore environments.
The Wind Energy stand will include:
- HPS - permanent magnets motors that achieve up to IE5 Ultra Premium Efficiency
- HP Combi - a package that combines a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a VFD
- Ultra Compact - the brushless servomotor range that offers increased power density up to 30% and reduced dimensions up to 20% on the same motor dimension
- Premium Efficiency IE3 Motors and Super Premium Efficiency IE4 Motors at 50Hz
“Renewable energy sources including wind turbines are under increasing pressure to deliver a continuous supply of power to meet growing global demand,” Nigel continues. “Sumitomo Drive Technologies offers a range of products designed for use in power generation applications and this dedicated wind power show provides an ideal opportunity for us to showcase the power of Lafert motors to industry leaders from around the world.”
Sumitomo Drive Technologies teams will be taking part in two German shows in the autumn – Chillventa in Nuremburg (13th-15th October) – hall 7, stand 142, followed by the largest show in the automation industry’s annual calendar - SPS in Nuremburg (24th-26th November) – hall 3A, booths 455, 456 and 457.
All About Automation
Dusseldorf is one of the regional locations featuring in this series of regional exhibitions across Germany targeting industrial automation, robotics and digitalisation.
High precision gearbox solutions on show include the Fine Cyclo series and Neo Essential series of cost-effective gear and gear motors.
They will feature alongside smartris drives which offer a compact, integrated, and intelligent solution combining gearbox, servomotor, and drive controller in one perfectly tuned package. These drives are particularly suitable for AGV and AMR applications, providing easy installation and commissioning.
Chillventa
Billed as ‘the world’s leading exhibition for refrigeration technology’ Chillventa provides an opportunity to showcase Sumitomo Drive Technologies’ wide range of gears, motors, drives and integrated drive solutions developed specifically for refrigeration applications.
“Refrigeration systems need to guarantee a continuous, constant temperature for the environment in which they are installed,” says Nigel. “We’ll be showing the breadth of products we provide for use in the global refrigeration industry at Chillventa.
“This will include electric motors specifically designed for refrigeration applications such as the HP Combi, the HP Axial, HP Integral which combines an IE5 Ultra Premium Efficiency motor with an IE2 High Efficiency drive, and HPS IE6 Hyper Efficiency range – Lafert’s latest innovation that uses permanent magnet technology to offer superior power and torque performance. “We’ll also be exhibiting gearboxes designed for fan drive applications including wet cooling towers, air cooled condensers, and direct air capturing,” continues Nigel. “Products on the stand will include the Hansen M5CT gearbox – a dedicated right-angle, two-stage gearbox for cooling and carbon capture technologies. Available in seven sizes and built with a rigid housing designed to withstand highly corrosive and humid environments, the M5CT ensures smooth transition of high axial loads from cooling fans.”

The Chillventa stand will also include variable frequency drives including Optidrive Coolvert – which is now available in four frame sizes, as well as the Optidrive Eco which is widely used in refrigeration and pump applications.
SPS
‘Smart Product Solutions’ (SPS) advertises itself as the beating heart of automation; as the leading annual show for the automation industry, SPS is the perfect platform for Sumitomo Drive Technologies to showcase all of its very latest innovations.
“SPS is a mainstay in our annual marketing activities,” comments Nigel. “It’s the biggest show of its kind in Europe and as such is attended by all of the key global players. We will be using our stand to launch a number of new products and range extensions, as well as highlighting our technical expertise in all aspects of motion control.
“We’ve been taking part in SPS for a number of years now and our teams always come back energised from conversations that may not otherwise have happened. We’re looking forward to another busy show!”

Fine Cyclo B Series - backlash-free precision gearboxes
The brand new Fine Cyclo series combines precision, rigidity and load-bearing capacity for compact, highly dynamic machine solutions.
The new series is designed for manufacturers that need compact drive solutions with high dynamics and maximum transmission accuracy – particularly in applications with limited installation space and high demands on rigidity and running accuracy, such as those found in machine tools, medical technology or handling systems.
Smartris - packaged drive solution for AGV and AMR applications
Combining a cycloidal gearbox, servo motor, and drive controller in a single compact, plug-and-play package, Smartris delivers consistently smooth, fast, and quiet movement - simplifying system design and reducing integration time for both OEMs and end users.
Optidrive E4 – general purpose VFD with more capability than ever
Featuring the same proven benefits of the hugely popular E3 VFD, E4 offers increased capability including USB-C connectivity, safe torque off (STO) to SIL3 and a range of pluggable fieldbus communications, all with Invertek’s ease of use at its core. E3 and E4 are both designed to be used ‘straight out of the box’ – simply plug and play for high-performance motor control at your finger-tips.

Lift Expo and ISEE
Invertek Drives will also be exhibiting at two dedicated elevator shows: Lift Expo in Milan taking place from 28th-30th October (stands A10 and A12), and then the final show of 2026 - ISEE in New Delhi (3rd-5th December) stand IK72. ISEE is India’s ‘largest elevator and escalator show’ and provides an excellent opportunity for Invertek to meet with potential and existing customers from this booming industry.
The Invertek stands at both shows will focus on Optidrive Elevator and Elevator Core - dedicated VFDs that provide exceptionally smooth, energy efficient motor control demanded by the global elevator industry.
“An increase in the construction of high-rise buildings and large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly in Asia, and a focus on energy efficiency have meant the elevator industry has grown steadily over the past few years,” said Nigel. “This growth is predicted to continue and offers huge potential for Sumitomo Drive Technologies – particularly through Invertek Drives which has been focussing on this industry for a number of years.”
